Subpoena The Survivors? Yesterday President Obama nominated Deborah Jones, a former ambassador to Kuwait, to be the new U.S. ambassador to Libya. The nomination comes six months after the deadly attacks on our consulate in Benghazi, that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. |

Obama's Outreach "A Joke"? Last week I said I was skeptical of President Obama's sudden outreach to congressional conservatives. But you don't have to take my word for it. In the past 24 hours, there have been several media reports indicating that Obama's outreach efforts are less than sincere. Ron Fournier, a veteran political reporter, was told by a senior White House official, "This is a joke. We're wasting the president's time and ours. "Stoke And Scare" Last week the media were gushing about the president's dinner with his former Republican colleagues from the Senate. Bin Laden Son-In-Law Captured Last night news broke that we had captured Sulaiman Abu Ghaith -- Osama bin Laden's son-in-law. One intelligence expert described Abu Ghaith as being one of the few remaining Al Qaeda leaders "capable of getting the old band back together." |

Obama Shifts Strategy? President Obama invited a dozen Republican senators to dinner last night. Rather than hosting them at the White House, where the president clearly has the upper hand, they met in neutral territory -- at the Jefferson Hotel. And Obama personally picked up the tab. |

Last week we warned that the administration seemed determined to make the sequester cuts as painful for the American people as possible in order to justify a tax and spend, big government agenda. Yesterday we got more proof. An agricultural official in North Carolina recently asked his superiors in Washington for flexibility in managing the sequester cuts so that vital inspections would not be affected. Here is the response he got back: |

Liberal Insanity I am becoming increasingly convinced that the worldview of many on the left is simply insane. There is no other word to describe it. I was reminded of this in the last couple of days by some recent events that have taken place in our schools. These incidents speak volumes about the bizarre set of values that direct leftist thinking. But I am most concerned about the effect it has on normal little American boys and girls. |
