Defend The Duck Commander! As many of you know by now, A&E, the Arts & Entertainment Network, has "indefinitely" suspended Phil Robertson from its highest-rated show, "Duck Dynasty." Why? Because Robertson dared to speak openly about his biblically-based values on marriage and human sexuality during a GQ interview. When asked by GQ about his views on homosexuality, Robertson quoted Scripture and, as his many fans appreciate, he elaborated in his own colorful way. |

Basking in the glow of victory, his spirits sky-high, Obama would grab the Washington Post, and see a front page poll that brought him even more cheer. When asked who they trusted to do a better job coping with the problems the nation faced, the American people chose Obama over Republicans in Congress by an astonishing 50 to 35 percent. |

Backlash To Ryan Deal Grows
Is the Ryan-Murray budget deal going to die in the Senate? It’s entirely possible. The budget deal gets $6 billion of its “savings” by implementing cuts in military retirees' pensions. Republican senators are not happy, and more of them are announcing that, because of the cuts, they will vote “No.” Veterans of Foreign Wars has come out strongly against the provision. |

The Dog That Didn’t Bark It has been 24 hours since the Ryan-Murray deal hit Washington, and, as I feared, conservatives are forming their usual circular firing squad in attacking the deal. House Minority leader John Boehner lashed out at conservative groups with over-the-top rhetoric. Meanwhile, Texas Senator Ted Cruz called the deal “deeply concerning,” and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul called its increased funding “shameful.” |

How Low Can He Go? Late last month, President Obama quipped about his low approval ratings, “[T]he good thing about when you're down is that usually you got nowhere to go but up.” But Obama’s statement was premature at best. A new Quinnipiac University poll finds the president’s approval rating has dipped to 38 percent among registered voters, with barely one in three approving of Obama’s actions on health care and only four in ten approving of his Iran policy. |
