Open Borders Biden

Joe Biden's outrageous open borders policy allowed more than 5,000 people a day to cross our southern border illegally last year.  Even more illegal aliens are expected to cross the border this year.

This "open borders" policy is disloyal to the American people.  It allows deadly drugs and violent gangs to enter our country and terrorize our citizens. 

Many on the left believe that they benefit politically from open borders.  That's why the left supports allowing illegal aliens to vote in our elections.  But it may yet come back to haunt Biden. 

One constant in American political history is that the nation instinctively rallies around the president during times of war and serious foreign policy crises.  But so far, there is no evidence at all that the American people are rallying around Joe Biden in the middle of this Ukraine crisis as his approval ratings remain dismally low. 

What's going on?

Well, polling also shows that most Americans view Biden as weak.  They're worried that he is unfit mentally for the job. 

And we've seen Biden and his gang in action before . . . Afghanistan didn't exactly go well.  Few seem willing to give him a second chance in Ukraine, especially when the stakes are considerably higher.

But I think there's something else at play here.  Biden ordered more U.S. troops to be deployed to eastern Europe yesterday.  I've heard even liberal neighbors complain that they can't get excited about protecting Europe's borders when we aren't even protecting our own borders.

Whether the left wants to admit it or not, border security is a top concern among the American people.  And Americans are watching with increasing frustration as Biden orders their sons and daughters to protect the borders of Europe, while he refuses to protect the borders of the United States! 

When one nation crosses another nation's border, as Biden acknowledged yesterday, that's a violation of international law.  It's an invasion. 

But what do you call it when the leader of a country refuses to stop people from illegally crossing his nation's borders?

What do you call it when that leader actively pursues policies that invite millions of people to illegally enter his country?  

What do you call it when a president seems more interested in helping illegal aliens than he is in helping American citizens?

I call it a failed presidency. 

Speaking Of Borders. . .

Here we go again.  A group of blue-collar truckers and others are coming to Washington to demonstrate against authoritarian mandates.  The protests are scheduled to coincide with Biden's State of the Union address next week, and the left is freaking out.

Just to remind you, people coming to Washington, demonstrating outside the White House, on the National Mall and tying up traffic, has been a common feature of our Republic.  It is an example that you can see with your eyes and hear with your ears of our freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and the right to petition our government. 

Young Americans have demonstrated for college debt relief.  Older Americans have demonstrated for greater Social Security benefits.  Thousands of leftist women demonstrated against Donald Trump after his inauguration.  Thousands of pro-life Americans demonstrate every year for the sanctity of life. 

Demonstrating in our nation's capital is as American as apple pie!

But now in Joe Biden's America, just like Justin Trudeau's Canada, the normal rights we have always taken for granted are suddenly under attack by the authoritarian left. 

So, the same liberal politicians who don't want a wall on the southern border are putting up another fence around the Capitol Building.  And the same liberal politicians who refuse to deploy the military to defend our border are calling out the National Guard to defend the borders of Washington, D.C. and Capitol Hill.

Clearly, this is another example of the left attempting to criminalize conservative dissent.  Whether D.C. commuters get stuck in traffic or not is beside the point.  We should respect any peaceful group that exercises their constitutional rights. 

If Biden were smart, he would authorize Jen Paski to say something like this:

"We've heard about the group of truckers coming to Washington.  We're reaching out to their leadership and inviting them to attend the State of the Union address in person as the president's guests.  The White House is concerned about the issues important to working Americans, and we think they would be interested in our agenda."

After all, Joe Biden used to be a truck driver.  Not!

But I don't believe there is any chance that will happen.  I don't believe the modern left cares about working-class Americans.  Many working-class and rural Americans certainly aren't feeling any love from the left.

Sadly, I believe that the president and the left are increasingly afraid of working-class Americans who are resisting their insane woke agenda.  As one senator recently put it, "It's not liberal versus conservative anymore.  It's crazy versus normal."

Canadian Bank Run?

When Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ordered officials to seize the bank accounts of "Freedom Convoy" truckers, he undoubtedly thought it was a show of strength that would end the protest.  But it could be the beginning of something much worse for his government.

For some unknown reason, five major Canadian banks completely shut down for several hours last week.  There is speculation that Trudeau's order may have triggered a run on the banks. 

Was it just the truckers trying to get their money while still they could?  Or did large numbers of Canadians react to the sudden realization that their government had embraced fascism and everyone's assets were now at risk?

If Canadians no longer feel they can trust the banks because they can't trust the government that controls them, Trudeau may have just put the entire Canadian economy at risk.

Regardless of what happened, it's hard to believe that the citizens of any "free" country would tolerate a government invoking emergency powers to financially destroy business owners and families who participated in peaceful protests, and even those who merely supported them. 

That's not freedom.  And for all of Trudeau's progressive rhetoric, there's certainly nothing tolerant about such dictatorial actions by Canada's Liberal Party leader.
