McCarthy Makes His Move

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy today announced he is ordering a formal impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden. Speaking to reporters this morning, Speaker McCarthy made the case for the impeachment inquiry, saying:

“We know that bank records show that nearly $20 million in payments were directed to Biden family members and associates through various shell companies. . . A trusted FBI informant has alleged a bribe to the Biden family. Biden used his official office to coordinate with Hunter Biden’s business partners about Hunter’s role in Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company. . .  

“It appears the president’s family has been offered special treatment by Biden’s own administration, treatment that they would not have otherwise received. 

“These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption. . . These facts should concern all Americans. The American people deserve to know that the public offices are not for sale and that the federal government is not being used to cover up the actions of a politically associated family.”

Biden Rewards Terrorism

The Biden presidency has hit a new low. It used the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks to announce a disgusting payoff of $6 billion to Iran – the world’s leading sponsors of radical Islamic terrorism. It’s beyond shameful!

Iran has made it clear that it wants to assassinate former President Donald Trump, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former National Security Adviser John Bolton.

Iran provides drones to help Russia to attack Ukraine. And when the Iranian drones are used in Ukraine, Biden then runs to Congress demanding billions more to defend Ukraine. American taxpayers are paying for weapons used by both sides!

The White House insists that Iran won’t be allowed to use the money for anything other than food and medicine. They must think we’re all stupid!

First of all, Iran has never made an agreement it hasn’t broken. It is foolish and naive to trust this regime. 

Secondly, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi doesn’t believe that there any limitations on the use of these funds. Raisi said, “This money belongs to the Iranian people, the Iranian government, so the Islamic Republic of Iran will decide what to do with this money.”

Most importantly, money is fungible, meaning it can be moved around from one pot to another. If Iran uses Biden’s $6 billion “gift” for food and medicine, that then frees up $6 billion for Iran to buy weapons, support terrorism and advance its nuclear weapons program.

Of course, we’re happy that five American prisoners will reportedly be released as part of this deal. No doubt their families are celebrating today. But Biden just guaranteed that more innocent people will be taken hostage and more families will suffer in the future because he’s paying off terrorists!

For America’s enemies, Joe Biden is the gift that keeps on giving. 

Our Forrest Gump President

If you haven’t seen the movie “Forrest Gump,” it’s about a man who seems to have been present (by accident) at virtually every historic moment during his lifetime. Of course, that was make believe.

Well, we have a make-believe president who claims or believes he was present at many historic events. 

Joe Biden claimed he was arrested in South Africa while visiting Nelson Mandela. He wasn’t. He claimed he was arrested marching for civil rights. He wasn’t.

Biden claimed he convinced Strom Thurmond to change his vote and support the Civil Rights Act. He didn’t. He was only 21 years-old at the time, and wouldn’t join the Senate for another nine years.

Biden claimed that as vice president he was able to get a Purple Heart for his uncle, who served in World War II. He didn’t. Biden’s uncle died ten years before he became vice president. 

I could go on, but you get the point. Biden did it again on 9/11. 

Speaking to our troops on the anniversary of 9/11, he opened his remarks with a joke about his skill as a football player, something else he has embellished before. 

Then, Biden claimed that he went to Ground Zero on September 12, 2001, the day after the attacks. He said, “I remember standing there the next day, and looking at the building. And I felt like I was looking through the gates of hell. . .” He didn’t do that either. 

Joe Biden was in Washington, D.C., speaking on the Senate floor. And everything he has done since that day has been to undermine the lessons we learned on 9/11 – including the fact that you don’t negotiate with terrorists!

But I get what’s going on here. We’ve all had relatives like this when their memory starts to go. We politely shake our heads, give them a hug and look for ways to make sure they don’t hurt themselves. 

We don’t make them president of the United States and entrust them with the nuclear codes!

It’s also possible that Biden just got confused and thought he was Donald Trump, who actually did go to Ground Zero not long after the attack.

A Colossal Mistake

After 9/11, the Bush Administration vowed to get the jihadists who brutally murdered 3,000 Americans. But soon, this laudable goal morphed into a fool’s errand of “nation building.”

Well-intentioned people thought they could turn the Middle East into America. They thought the Islamic world was just as receptive to democracy and human rights as the rest of the Western world. 

So, we went off into no-win wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Countless families lost sons and daughters. We spent unimaginable sums of money. It’s one of the major reasons we’re in the financial mess we are today. 

But it’s worse than that.

Using national defense and homeland security as an excuse, too many politicians on both sides of the aisle dramatically grew the government and dramatically increased the power of the Deep State. 

We were assured that these new powers wouldn’t be abused and there were plenty of safeguards, like the FISA courts. And, of course, there was always congressional oversight. Besides, we should “trust the good guys.”

Here we are 22 years later and every one of those tools has been turned against the American people. The Deep State used that power to take down the first president in modern history who was willing to take on the DC Swamp.  

Yet, when those abuses were exposed, the Deep State didn’t back down. It doubled down. Now it’s censoring the truth and going after Catholic churches and parents at school board meetings.

And here’s the latest scandal: A whistleblower has told congressional investigators that the CIA offered “significant monetary incentives” for experts investigating the origins of COVID-19 to change their positions and downplay the possibility of a lab leak. Once again, Big Brother doesn’t trust you with the truth.

We have frittered our money away. We have frittered our liberty away. Now we’re in a fight to save America. 

Targeting Conservatives

Leonard Leo is not exactly a household name. Leo is co-chairman of the Federalist Society and has been instrumental in the fight to confirm conservative judges. His effectiveness has put a bull’s eye on his back.

The far-left attorney general of the District of Columbia just launched a full-blown investigation into Leo’s work based on flimsy allegations from a so-called “watchdog” group, which is actually a left-wing “hit group.”

You’d think the DC attorney general would have more important things to do, given the district’s horrific crime wave, but no. Nothing is more important to the left than preserving its power, and Leo’s work to restore balance to our courts is a huge threat to the left’s power.

Senate liberals on the Judiciary Committee, led by Chairman Dick Durbin (D-IL), are also going after Leo, demanding he turn over all communications with sitting Supreme Court justices. 

But here’s the bottom line: Progressive administrations are known for using the IRS to harass conservative organizations from the Christian Coalition to the Tea Party. We’ve seen the left weaponize law enforcement to target one conservative leader after another. They’re even going after the wives of Supreme Court justices. 

And as Donald Trump has repeatedly warned, they’re trying to take him down so it’s easier to take you down.
