KBJ & Bizarro World
The confirmation hearings for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson are an urgent wake-up call for the American people. The judge was caught flat-footed and stuck between the definition of woman that has existed since the beginning of human history and the left's ideology, which denies reality and the Natural Law.
I can only imagine the emergency meeting held late Tuesday night between Jackson and her White House handlers on the very complicated and difficult question of "What is a woman?" We are truly living in "Bizarro World."
Whatever woke guidance the White House gave Judge Jackson clearly didn't help. She had no better response when Sen. Ted Cruz noted yesterday that she is the only Supreme Court nominee in history who could not define what a woman is.
What irony!
We're supposed to celebrate the "historic" nomination of the first black woman. Yet, she is the first Supreme Court nominee who can't define what a woman is! How can Joe Biden be certain that he actually nominated a woman?
As Tucker Carlson noted in his monologue last night, that question from Sen. Blackburn should have been a slam dunk. In fact, it could have easily backfired on Blackburn.
But not in today's progressive movement that demands we deny reality and affirm that 2 + 2 = 5 and that boys can be girls.
As I noted the other day, it's easy to laugh at the lunacy of the left. But this is no laughing matter. This radicalism is being forced on children, who have no comprehension of how they are permanently damaging their bodies.
Moreover, research shows that the "transition" process is deadly. Yes, that is a strong statement. But a study from the University of Amsterdam found that gender transitioning medical procedures "shorten the lifespan of patients by 50%."
Judges, teachers and politicians at every level – from the White House to the school board – who support this insanity must be held accountable.
He's Baaack!
Kim Jong Un just conducted his first ICBM missile test since 2017. Just so we're clear, ICBM stands for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. That's what an enemy would use to deliver a nuclear strike on the United States.
North Korea was testing ICBMs for some time, but it stopped in 2017. What is the significance of 2017? Of course, it was the first year of the Trump presidency.
Donald Trump made it absolutely clear that Kim's provocative tests were unacceptable. (Remember "little rocket man?") Trump read Kim the riot act, and explained how he and North Korea could have a far better and more productive future.
That was the end of "little rocket man's" ICBM tests -- until now. I think you can connect the dots, even if our left-wing media will not.
By the way, anyone who thinks that Joe Biden making another nuclear deal with Iran will turn Iran into a respectable nation is smoking something. The last remaining stumbling block to the deal is lifting sanctions on the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Iran's terrorist army. That's insane, but that's what Joe Biden is trying to do.
Biden has alienated multiple U.S. allies, putting America in grave danger, and encouraging nuclear proliferation in the Middle East – the very thing he claims he is trying to prevent with another terrible nuclear deal with Iran.
The Saudis certainly have a multitude of problems and deserve criticism on many fronts. But the Saudis respected Donald Trump. Do you remember this? (Here and here.) That was the highest level of honor and greeting the Saudis can give to a foreign leader. So, we went from that welcome to a president who cannot get his phone calls returned.
The Fight For Freedom
A new Fox News poll came out yesterday. What caught my attention is that the Fox poll showed the race for control of Congress is statistically tied, with the GOP up by just two points. How can that possibly be right?
Well, it may be accurate because the strong anti-Biden narrative on inflation, crime, illegal immigration, outrageous critical race theory in the schools, etc., etc., was wiped off the front pages by Ukraine.
I obviously want to stand with Ukraine. I have been against Russian aggression my entire life.
But it is incomprehensible to me why so many conservatives are pushing Biden to be tougher in this current crisis, raising the stakes and the chances that we stumble into a major war that will be led by "Thoroughly Modern" Milley and Surrenderer-in-Chief Joe Biden, architect of the disaster in Kabul.
On what basis does one conclude that such a war would come out well for America?
Let me put it this way: The best way to protect and preserve freedom around the world is to protect and preserve freedom here in America.
Our freedom is most threatened not by Russia, but by the radical left led by Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, their left-wing media allies and their American oligarch friends in Big Tech and on Wall Street who have smashed small businesses, attacked religious liberty and threatened free speech.
Remember – there is no appetite for more foreign wars, especially war with Russia. But if voters perceive that the Bush-era "War Party" has returned, it's understandable why the polling may be so close.
Ketanji Brown Jackson has given conservatives a golden opportunity to refocus the national debate back on the culture war and radicalism of the left's extreme woke agenda. They should seize that opportunity and force liberals to defend the radical left's fringe positions.
Fall Of Cheney
Rep. Liz Cheney, daughter of the former vice president, enjoyed a meteoric rise in Washington. In fact, it wasn't that long ago when many political observers expected her to be the first female Republican Speaker of the House. How times have changed!
Cheney has been kicked off the House GOP leadership team. Wyoming Republicans have kicked her out of the party.
Now more than 100 House Republicans are helping to kick her out of Congress by sponsoring a fundraiser for her primary opponent, Harriet Hageman, who has been endorsed by President Donald Trump.
The GOP members opposing Cheney span the ideological spectrum -- from the conservative Freedom Caucus to the more moderate Mainstreet Partnership. Why would so many Republicans stand against their colleague?
Liz Cheney has $4.7 million in her campaign account. Much of it comes from left-wing mega-donors who live outside of Wyoming. Presumably, her GOP colleagues now see Cheney as a tool of the radical left, the same movement that has given us a Supreme Court nominee who can't define "woman."
Cheney might not publicly endorse such bizarre thinking, but she's enabling it by allying with Nancy Pelosi in her jihad against Donald Trump and the America First movement.
Whether she wins or loses her primary, Cheney is widely expected to wage a third party campaign against Trump or any other America First conservative in 2024, which would most likely guarantee a left-wing victory.
Prayers For Thomas
According to various press reports, Justice Clarence Thomas still remains hospitalized with an infection. Please continue to keep Justice Thomas and his wife, Ginni, in your prayers.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki offered her good wishes for Thomas's speedy recovery this week, but only after she had ignored the headlines of his hospitalization and had to be asked by a reporter, 30 minutes into her press briefing, if the White House had any contact with Thomas.
Given the news that Ms. Psaki has been diagnosed with COVID-19 again, I certainly wish her a speedy recovery, too.
