Iranian Deal Near: Obama Caves

Obama, desperate to change the subject away from why you can't keep your insurance, is close to announcing a "peace" deal that will guarantee Iran will get to keep its nuclear weapons. The media will praise it, but make no mistake -- it is a disaster for us, for Israel and our other allies.

An investigation by The Daily Beast disclosed today that the Obama Administration secretly began softening sanctions on Iran months ago, right after the June Iranian elections. Obama wanted to send a message of goodwill to the new regime in Tehran. This early sign of U.S. weakness told Iran all it needed to know.

The impending deal will ease sanctions even further while failing to require that Iran make meaningful concessions. The White House is counting on the details of the agreement to be too confusing for opponents to stop it or the U.S. public to fully understand it.

"Peace in our time" will bail Obama out. Never mind that long term the agreement makes a major Middle East war not only nearly certain, but infinitely more expensive in blood and money.

Unnerved by Obama's outreach to Iran, the Saudis are turning to the Pakistanis and launching a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. Obama's inaction is accelerating nuclear proliferation -- the very thing he claims to be trying to prevent.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is understandably furious. Just hours ago he said, "This is a very bad deal and Israel utterly rejects it. …Israel will do everything it needs to do to defend itself and to defend the security of its people."

These are courageous words. But many insiders believe Obama has put Israel in an impossible position. If Israel now tries to handle the Iranian nuclear program on its own, it would face not only a furious Obama but also outraged European leaders who would accuse Israel of destroying any chance for peace.

Will liberals in Congress who claim to be pro-Israel stand with conservatives to expose this sellout? Don't count on it.

Burned & Sorry

During an exclusive interview with NBC News last night, Obama did his best to stop the bleeding he and his fellow liberals have sustained from the Obamacare debacle.

Reporter Chuck Todd asked Obama about the failed website and whether Healthcare.gov would be ready by the end of the month. Obama suggested it would be, but then added:

  • "Now that -- you know, having said that -- given that I've been burned already with -- a website -- well, more importantly, the American people have been burned by a website that has been dysfunctional. What we've also been doing is creating a whole other set of tracks. Making sure that people can apply by phone effectively. Making sure that people can apply in person effectively. …"

Notice he first said, "I've been burned." But he quickly corrected himself and mentioned the American people who are the real victims of Obamacare.

Todd also pressed the president about the millions of Americans receiving cancellation letters in spite of his repeated promises that they could keep the insurance they currently have. Obama said: "I am sorry that they -- you know, are finding themselves in this situation, based on assurances they got from me."

What is Obama sorry about?

Is Obama sorry people are paying more? Is he sorry they are losing access to their doctors?

Is he sorry that taxpayers have lost hundreds of millions of their hard-earned dollars on a website that doesn't work? Is he sorry he rammed Obamacare through Congress in the most partisan manner possible, not getting even a single Republican vote?

He didn't say he was sorry for lying to the American people. I don't use the word "lying" lightly, but that is what happened. The White House knew Obama's promise was false.

Rep. John Yarmouth (D-KY) now admits he "cringed" when Obama repeatedly lied to the American people because Yarmouth knew that promise was false.

Republicans warned Obama's promise was false.

But Obama has apologized. So all's forgiven, right? Time to move on.

This "fauxpology" may be enough for Big Media. We'll have to wait and see whether the Obamacare debacle blows over or if the outrage growing across the country continues to gain momentum.

America Deserves Better

All of us have been taught by our parents or experience that life can be unfair. It is a sad fact that some people lie, cheat and steal. But whether it is in your personal life, your business, your marriage or politics, you are a fool if you allow someone to lie to you a second time.

Obamacare was sold on lies and we are seeing the results. How can Americans trust this administration on comprehensive immigration reform when Obama says he will secure the border? He has already gutted many of our immigration laws.

How can Americans trust this administration when Obama he says he wants to balance the budget and control spending? He has run the largest deficits in history and repeatedly raised taxes. And given today's news about Iran, there seems to be little reason to trust this administration when it comes to foreign policy.

Rush On Rich

On his show yesterday, Rush Limbaugh commented on the remarks of left-wing columnist Frank Rich regarding this week's election results in New Jersey and Virginia. Limbaugh reports that Rich said there is more to learn from Cuccinelli's loss than Christie's win. Here's what Rich said:

  • "[Cuccinelli] had almost everything, according to conventional wisdom, going against him. But he came within three points of Terry McAuliffe, who had the Clintons campaigning for him. He had President Obama campaigning for him. He had a ton of money. And he had a government shutdown to beat over Cuccinelli's head because northern Virginian government workers were affected by it and, you know, Cuccinelli is part of the right wing that supported the shutdown.

"This guy did as well as he could and might have won, frankly, if it hadn't been for a third-party Libertarian candidate.  I think [that] does not look great for Democrats, and also does not look great for moderate Republicans who take such heart in Chris Christie's victory in New Jersey because I think the Tea Party is alive and well."

That's interesting. A real lefty like Frank Rich seems to understand the conservative movement better than many pundits and so-called leaders inside the Washington Beltway, who are learning precisely the wrong lessons about Tuesday's results.
