March For Life

Tens of thousands of pro-life activists, mostly young Americans, came to Washington, D.C., today to take a stand for life. They were greeted by the terrific news that President Donald Trump has pardoned 23 Christian political prisoners. That’s exactly what they were: political prisoners -- in the United States of America.

These are Christian believers who take the Word seriously. Their actions were well within the tradition of American dissent throughout our entire history. But today’s progressive leftists thought it was just fine to throw them in jail.

We have been in communication with the Trump team all through 2024, during the campaign and in the months since the campaign. We told every person we knew how important it was for President Trump to free these Christian activists. Every step of the way, we were reassured that there was no doubt he would do it, and Donald Trump did it.

Some people I respect said last year, “It’s too bad we don’t have a pro-life candidate in the race.” That’s just silly. Donald Trump’s justices overturned Roe v. Wade. He is the first Republican presidential candidate willing to argue the abortion issue with Democrats on the debate stage.

And today, 23 people, some with handicapped children to take care of, are once again free people and reunited with their families.

Some Christians stayed home in November. There were prominent Christians who wrote articles saying the right thing to do was not vote. If Kamala Harris had won the election, more pro-life Americans would be on their way to prison.

I challenge every pastor and priest in America to say something from the pulpit this Sunday thanking Donald Trump for letting Christians who believe in the sanctity of life out of prison.

President Trump and Vice President Vance addressed the March For Life. Both men talked about how outrageous it was that American Christians were thrown into jail for exercising their right to protest. And both vowed that it must never happen again.

Today, the Department of Justice announced that it is dropping three pending cases against pro-life activists.

Left-wing Lunacy

In stark contrast to President Trump’s welcomed pardons, congressional Democrats welcomed the pro-life marchers to the nation’s capital by voting for infanticide.

The House of Representatives took up the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act yesterday. It’s a simple measure: any baby that is born alive during an abortion is entitled to appropriate medical care. Deliberately failing to treat the baby is infanticide.

You would think we could all agree that infanticide is a terrible thing that should not be tolerated. Who could possibly be so callous and extreme as to support infanticide? At least 204 House Democrats, that’s who.

Only one Democrat voted for the bill to save live babies, while 204 voted to allow infanticide to continue. One Democrat voted “Present,” and nine did not vote.

Nomination Update

Former Congressman and Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe was confirmed yesterday to be CIA Director, but not before the Senate had to overcome leftist obstructionism.

Ratcliffe should have been confirmed earlier this week. But Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) objected, saying he had “serious concerns” and demanded two days of debate on the Senate floor.

Murphy’s “concerns” were just stonewalling. In the end, Ratcliffe’s nomination wasn’t controversial at all. He was confirmed 74 to 25. Here’s what Ratcliffe told Breitbart News after his confirmation:

“I know from conversations with the president about where his priorities are . . . as it concerns foreign threats to America’s national security posture, and it starts with China.

“One of the things that I’ve talked about a lot is addressing the threat from China on a number of fronts, and that goes back to why a million Americans died and why the Central Intelligence Agency has been sitting on the sidelines for five years in not making an assessment about the origins of COVID. That’s a day-one thing for me.”

Senators also voted to end the Democrat filibuster of Pete Hegseth’s nomination to be Secretary of Defense. His confirmation vote is expected today. But Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) have made it clear that they will vote against Hegseth.

If every other Republican senator supports him, the vote will be 51 to 49. There are rumors, which had better be false, that Mitch McConnell might vote against Hegseth’s confirmation. That would make the vote 50 to 50 with Vice President Vance breaking the tie.

The final vote on Hegseth’s confirmation is expected to take place later tonight. However, our contacts at the White House and in Congress are telling us that it’s not a done deal. There are concerns that other senators, including Tillis of North Carolina, might jump ship.

Another Huge Win

The United States maintains a number of international media outlets, such as Radio Free Europe and Voice of America, to present America’s case to the world. These media outlets are all governed by the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM).

You would be shocked at how even these organizations have been taken over by the neo-Marxist left. All too often what they are broadcasting sounds more like what is being broadcast by our enemies.

That is about to change. President Trump announced that he has named Brent Bozell to be the new CEO of the USAGM. It’s impossible to think of a better choice!

Bozell has been fighting left-wing media bias for many years at the helm of the Media Research Center (MRC). I co-sponsored the early years of his “awards” dinner for the worst leftist reporter when I led the Family Research Council.

Responding to the president’s announcement, Bozell said:

“I am honored to be chosen by President Trump to serve as the next CEO of the U.S. Agency for Global Media. There is lots of work to be done. I look forward to meeting with senators ahead of my confirmation hearing to explore how best to ensure the priorities of the president are met.”

By the way, Bozell won’t be going into this nest of vipers alone. President Trump has nominated Kari Lake to be the next director of Voice of America.

Kicking Thugs Out

Republicans may have their main campaign ad to run in the 2026 congressional elections. When Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers conducted raids yesterday in Boston, they arrested a Haitian migrant with at least 17 criminal convictions. He was still in the United States because of left-wing open borders policies and sanctuary cities.

As this thug was handcuffed and put into an ICE vehicle, he yelled, “I’m not going back to Haiti! F*ck Trump! . . . Biden forever, bro! Thank Obama for everything he did for me, bro.”

It’s pretty clear which side he is on.

Every Biden/Harris voter ought to ask themselves this question: Should you be troubled by the fact that criminal aliens, preying on American citizens, were hoping that Kamala Harris would win the election so the policies of Obama/Biden/Harris could continue?
