Biden’s Lies

Joe Biden went to Puerto Rico yesterday to survey the damage caused by Hurricane Fiona. This should have been an easy trip for “Uncle Joe,” a great chance to show off his legendary compassion and turn the page from “Where’s Jackie?” Not a chance!

Biden’s been on the public stage for decades, and yet we keep learning new things about him. He told us yesterday that he was politically “raised by the Puerto Rican community” in Delaware. What?!

When Biden began his political career in Delaware more than 50 years ago, there were maybe only a few thousands Puerto Ricans there. No one can find any reference to Biden ever suggesting that Puerto Rican culture influenced him or his career.

This is not normal behavior. It’s way beyond the usual tendency of politicians to embellish things. But it’s nothing new for Biden. The man lies all the time.

He said he was arrested while attempting to visit Nelson Mandela. He wasn’t.

He said he marched with the Civil Rights movement. He didn’t.

He said he was a truck driver. He wasn’t.

He said he visited the Tree of Life synagogue after an evil, anti-Semitic attack took place there. He didn’t

He said he was appointed to the Naval Academy. He wasn’t.

He said he graduated at the top of his class with multiple degrees while on a full scholarship. None of that was true.

He tells multiple stories with great detail that appear to be complete fiction. For example, Biden has told a moving story about pinning a medal on a soldier in Afghanistan. It didn’t happen.

He has frequently talked at length about his good friend, Angelo the Amtrak conductor. It’s false.

Sometimes, Biden’s lies have had serious consequences for him. He had to drop out of the 1988 presidential primary because it was discovered that he was lying about his speeches. They weren’t his

And while he’s making up these to inflate his own background, Biden also makes up things to divide us.

The most notable example is his repeated lie that Donald Trump praised neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, Virginia. Trump did not do that. He specifically condemned them, saying, “I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally.”

Why does Biden keep lying about this? Why do the media let him get away with it?

Biden lies about America, too. He lied about our brave Border Patrol agents, and never apologized for that disgusting smear. He says our courageous law enforcement officers are “racists.” He says millions of Americans are “semi-fascists.”

Sadly, Biden has been lying for years. It’s astonishing that anyone takes him seriously.

Lincoln Bust Is Back

A controversy erupted this summer at Cornell University after a bust of Abraham Lincoln suddenly disappeared from the Kroch Library. When Professor Randy Wayne inquired about the bust’s whereabouts, library staff informed him that it was “removed after some type of complaint.”

The bust was sculpted by famed artist Vinnie Ream before Lincoln’s assassination and was donated by Ezra Cornell to the university that bears his name. The bust had been on display in various locations at Cornell since 1891 until someone complained this summer.

This news did not sit well with Cornell alumni. Following a major backlash, the university librarian recently announced that the Lincoln bust will be restored to its original place of honor because Cornell University is so proud to have it.

The bust is part of an extensive Lincoln collection at Cornell University, which includes one of five known copies of the Gettysburg Address and a copy of the Thirteenth Amendment signed by Abraham Lincoln and all the members of Congress who approved it.

As Professor Wayne put it, “Abraham Lincoln is one of the greatest presidents, one of the greatest freedom fighters, and one of the greatest writers of the English language of all time. He wasn’t perfect, but I wish I were one-millionth of the man he was.”

This is a small victory against the cultural barbarians who are attacking our heroes and our history, but it’s an important victory nonetheless.

“Equity Grading”

Yesterday, we reported on Kamala Harris’s latest controversy regarding her suggestion that emergency disaster relief should be distributed based on “equity.” That’s one of the left’s favorite buzzwords. It might sound like “equality,” but that’s not what they mean.

When progressives talk about “equity” they’re talking about creating an equality of outcomes based on putting some classes of people first in order to correct for some perceived or real historic wrong. Reparations for slavery is one form of “equity.”

The latest “equity” controversy comes to us courtesy of the Fairfax County Public School system here in the suburbs of northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C.

Thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request filed by concerned parents, it was recently discovered that a number of schools in Fairfax County have implemented an “equitable grading” system in order to fight “institutional bias.”

The schools started this program as far back as 2015, but really ramped up its use during the pandemic.

Sadly, as we now know, our students suffered tremendously during the pandemic. Test scores fell precipitously after the schools were shut for two years.

But while “grade inflation” may appear to reduce educational achievement gaps on paper, it doesn’t improve actual education and doesn’t do our children any favors.

My friends, some of the most important elections that will take place this year will be at the local level for your school board. Please take the time to find out who the pro-reform, pro-transparency, pro-parent candidates are.

Day Of Atonement

Jews throughout the world will observe Yom Kippur at sunset tonight. Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the Jewish year and it is a solemn day. It is known as the Day of Atonement because it marks God's forgiveness of His chosen people for the sin of the golden calf.

Many Israelis remember the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Arab armies took advantage of the holiday to launch a surprise attack against Israel. After intense fighting throughout the month of October, Israel ultimately prevailed.

On this solemn day, please join Carol and me in praying for the peace of Jerusalem and for a peaceful Yom Kippur for our Jewish friends.
