It's Tax Day!
Today is the day many Americans dread -- Tax Day. While taxes are a "necessary evil," the fiscal condition of our country is one of the greatest challenges we face. Early tax receipts suggest that the Treasury Department may bring in record revenues this year due to recent tax increases and a slowly growing economy.
Yet in spite of that record revenue, the Obama Administration still expects to run a deficit of roughly $500 billion. Here's what it would look like if a typical family spent money as irresponsibility as the federal government.
Clearly big government spending is out of control. Under Obama's proposed budget, interest payments on the national debt would exceed the Pentagon's budget in just six years. Perhaps that is why Obama's budget was defeated in the House of Representatives last week 2-to-413.
Here's another disturbing fact about the state of this "economic recovery" -- food stamp recipients now outnumber full-time working women.
Anti-Semitic Shooter Hated "Neo-Cons"
As we reported yesterday, Frazier Glenn Miller, the anti-Semitic man accused of opening fire at a Jewish community center over the weekend, ironically ended up killing Christians. No matter who died, the senseless attack was a tragedy and a horrible crime. It is also another sad reminder that Jews and Christians are in the same fight against those who despise Judeo-Christian civilization.
Who exactly is Frazier Glenn Miller? He had a long record of extremism and hatred. But Big Media only told us about his disgusting white supremacist views. It left out the rest of the story. Citing a report from PJ Media, Rush Limbaugh noted that Miller was also part of the anti-Israel left.
Miller has run for public office several times, first in 1984 as a Democrat. Two years later, he ran as a Republican. In 2006, Miller ran again as a Democrat, and in 2010 he ran as an independent.
It should not have been difficult for the "main stream media" to find information about Miller. I apologize for the raw language, but judge for yourself. Here's one of Miller's many online posts referring to the 2012 election:
"Jew journalist Max Blumenthal exposes and explains this attempt by a foreign government Israel, to buy the presidential election for the neo-con, war-mongering republican [sic] establishment. Like I've been saying, the kikes simply do not trust a lame-duck black president with the name Hussein. Jews fear his re-election, thus this jewish [sic] Super PAC to defeat him."
Miller went on to ask, "Will Ron Paul and his close supporters fight back against this alien super-PAC by telling the truth about jew [sic] power in the U.S.?" He also wondered how the "democrat establishment" and "so-called liberal media" would react to "this jewish [sic] attack on their president."
Despite being a KKK leader, Miller seemed sympathetic toward Obama because the "Jews" were "attacking" him.
To what extent was this Jew-hater inspired by the anti-Israel, anti-neo con, anti-Jewish rhetoric of the left? Such rhetoric is also often parroted by extremists on the right. Frequently on the "Bauer & Rose Show," when my co-host Tom Rose and I talk about the need for America and Israel to stand together, we hear from those whose anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli views would fit in completely with those expressed by Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
Whatever its source, anti-Semitism is evil and I will continue to speak out against it and in support of a strong American/Israeli alliance.
"Release The Socks!"
As the situation in Ukraine turns violent, Washington is buzzing about the weakness of this White House. There was another phone call yesterday between Vladimir Putin and President Obama in which, according to the White House, the president reportedly urged Putin to try to control the separatists in Ukraine.
Control them? Putin is directing the separatists in Ukraine!
He has just demanded U.N. condemnation of the Ukrainian government's efforts to retake buildings seized by pro-Russian commandos. And what happens when the U.N. fails to comply? Putin will likely claim that he has no choice but to step in to protect ethnic Russians since the U.N. will not.
Back in Washington, Obama is going so far out of his way to avoid offending Russia that a dispute has erupted within the administration over the most appropriate way to deliver MREs (meals ready to eat) to Ukraine. Some in the Pentagon argued for a visible display of American support -- sending the MREs on Air Force planes, like in the Berlin airlift. But they ended up discretely shipping them in commercial trucks.
This excerpt from a weekend Wall Street Journal report says it all:
"The White House says it is still reviewing other items on Kiev's wish-list, including medical kits, uniforms, boots and military socks. 'You want to calibrate your chest-thumps,' a senior military official said of the step-by-step American response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's military moves. 'He does something else in Ukraine, we release the socks.'"
That's right, folks. Crimea is gone. Russian tanks are ready to roll through the rest of Ukraine, and "Plan B" is to send them socks.
Meanwhile Russia is doing everything it can to avoid provoking America. . . NOT!
In response to Obama's restraint, Putin flexed his biceps again -- this time ordering a fighter jet to repeatedly buzz the USS Donald Cook, a guided missile destroyer, sailing in international waters in the Black Sea.
Putin is following Vladimir Lenin's advice: "Probe with a bayonet. If you meet steel, stop. If you meet mush, then push." So far, Putin's bayonet has met nothing but mush, and we've got three more years of Putin pushing us around.
Folks, nobody wants a war. But the point I am making is this: Reagan had it right -- peace through strength. Weakness invites war. At some point a country like Russia, Iran, China or North Korea will miscalculate, as Hitler did by invading Poland, and the response will have to be war. The way to avoid war is by quickly and clearly demonstrating that there are limits to aggression.
All Obama has demonstrated is his "flexibility."
