Biden’s Border Lies
We reported yesterday that the FBI was frantically trying to locate a group of migrants who were smuggled into the country with the help of an ISIS operative. This is what happens when you have open borders.
But I recalled polling that suggested most Americans have no idea just how bad the border crisis really is. Nearly 90% of those surveyed underestimated the number of people illegally crossing our borders, and nearly one-third grossly underestimated the figure.
That level of extreme ignorance is the result of media malfeasance and the Biden Administration’s lies.
For example, when asked this week about the mounting crisis of housing illegal aliens in New York City, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre had the audacity to claim, “We are stopping the flow at the border.”
That is a blatant, flat out lie!
The Border Patrol reported that more than 7,000 illegal aliens were apprehended on Tuesday alone. At that rate, that’s more than 2.5 million illegal aliens entering the country a year.
How is that “stopping the flow at the border”?!
Jeh Johnson, Barack Obama’s secretary of Homeland Security, once said that 1,000 border crossings on a single day was a “bad number” that “overwhelms the system.”
You don’t get numbers this bad -- 7,000 a day -- unless you’re deliberately trying to overwhelm the system. And that’s exactly what Biden’s open borders policies are meant to do.
A Sad Day
Earlier this week, five pro-life activists were found guilty in federal court of violating the FACE Act after they staged a peaceful sit-in at a notorious Washington, D.C., abortion clinic.
The court declared their protest a form of “violence” and immediately sent these pro-life activists to prison. They now face possible sentences of 11 years in prison and crushing fines.
Here’s some irony. The court wasn’t so upset about “violence” during Trump’s 2017 inauguration. It wasn’t so upset about “violence” when rioters threatened the White House in the summer of 2020.
The violence inside the clinic every day doesn’t seem to bother the court at all. Perversely, the “violence” is godly men and women standing against it, attempting to save innocent lives.
Meanwhile, attacks against 88 pro-life centers across the country have been virtually ignored by the Biden Administration.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) blasted the Department of Justice (DOJ) for its obvious double standards and weaponization of the law against pro-life activists. Cruz said:
“When you compare how aggressively DOJ treats pro-life protesters . . . versus the hands-off approach it takes to those that burn and vandalize churches and pregnancy centers, it’s obvious that [Attorney General Merrick] Garland has thoroughly politicized our federal law enforcement and our system of justice. He should resign.”
The civil rights and human rights issue of our age is ensuring that our preborn children are covered by the protections of our founding documents and our laws. When the civil rights movement of the 1960s, led by Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., tried to prick the conscience of the American people, it engaged in the same tactics as these pro-life demonstrators.
For this, the entire political establishment -- from the president down to local Washington, D.C., politicians -- couldn’t wait to smash these pro-life activists.
By the way, this is an example of what awaits Donald Trump in the D.C. court system, and, ultimately, all of us. And it’s already started. (Here and here.)
More Election Interference
With multiple indictments so far having failed to dent Donald Trump’s popularity (yet another new poll finds Trump leading Joe Biden), the left is increasingly turning to more creative, if not desperate, measures to prevent his return to the White House.
There is now a well-orchestrated effort underway to challenge his eligibility to appear on state ballots based on the “insurrection clause” of the 14th Amendment.
Legal experts (here and here) are extremely skeptical of this move. Jonathan Turley, a professor of constitutional law, blasted the effort as “the single most dangerous constitutional theory I have seen pop up in decades.”
Among other flaws, Turley noted, “Donald Trump hasn’t been charged with insurrection, not even incitement.” But that won’t stop the left from trying.
Meanwhile, the effort is off to a rough start. Two top election officials, New Hampshire’s Republican secretary of state and Arizona’s Democrat secretary of state, have both rejected the notion of keeping Trump’s name off the 2024 ballot.
Return To Normal?
Many GOP elites desperately believe that Donald Trump is the aberration in American politics; that he’s the cause of all the discord roiling the country today, and if only he would just go away everything would go back to normal. They couldn’t be more wrong.
Just think about the really crazy things we’re dealing with right now. Culturally, it’s the insane transgender movement that denies reality. Well, we’re finding out now that this insanity was taking root in the medical establishment and teaching universities many years ago.
The medical associations and pediatric associations didn’t just latch onto this latest craze overnight. They were taken over by the left years ago. The CIA started actively recruiting transgender individuals in 2016. (Let that sink in for a moment.)
What about critical race theory? It was developed in the 1970s as an academic theory largely relegated to law schools. But it didn’t take long for radical activists to incorporate it into public school curricula.
Now the 1619 Project, which falsely teaches that America was founded in 1619 with slavery and not in 1776 with freedom, is being taught in thousands of schools across the country.
Remember the horrendous battle that erupted when Donald Trump nominated Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court? Well, that was nothing new. Democrats smeared Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas years before Trump nominated Kavanaugh.
Some people suggested that the riots of 2020 were so vicious because they were a reaction to Donald Trump’s presidency. But there were horrible riots in 1968 and 1992. Rep. Maxine Waters proudly defended the Los Angeles riots, in which dozens of people were killed, as “an insurrection.” (Jack Smith, call your office!)
So, don’t buy into the idea that everything will go back to normal if Donald Trump is locked up or drops out and goes away. The neo-Marxist left isn’t going away.
What is abnormal or unusual is that Donald Trump fought back! The “normalcy” that Beltway elites desire is going back to an era when the left still did all this outrageous stuff and far too many Republicans were too clueless to resist.
Here’s something else to think about.
I believe the left cheated in 2016, just not enough. I believe it cheated in 2020 and I believe it will cheat again.
They have abused the impeachment process. They censored the truth. They are committed to destroying the independence of the Supreme Court, and to gutting our First and Second Amendment rights.
Anytime you try to fight them, they play the “race card.” This is how the left fights, and it gets more vicious with each passing day.
If Donald Trump gives up, why would the left quit? It would only prove that their outrageous tactics work!
Gold Star Families Meet President
Gold Star families who lost sons and daughters in the horrific bombing at the Kabul airport during Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan were in Washington this week.
They came to meet with lawmakers and to once again demand answers and transparency. They have not minced words about how poorly they have been treated by the Biden White House and Pentagon.
President Joe Biden refused to meet with them this week. But last night, former President Donald Trump spent four hours with them! According to Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL), Trump listened to their stories, heard their frustration, and vowed to release everything he could about the Abbey Gate bombing in his second term.
For years, the media were all in when it came to one Gold Star family that didn’t like Trump. But they continue to ignore these Gold Star families. The double standard is disgusting.
