Confronting Chelsea

When Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) made disgusting, anti-Semitic remarks last month, many people spoke up to condemn her.  I was pleased to see that former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton was among those speaking out.

But for having the courage to speak out against anti-Semitism, Chelsea now stands accused of being complicit in the New Zealand mosque attacks.

Clinton was confronted at a prayer vigil Friday by two left-wing activists.  One of them said to her:

"This right here is the result of a massacre stoked by people like you and the words that you put out into the world.  I want you to know that and I want you to feel that deep inside. The 49 people died because of the rhetoric you put out there."

So because Chelsea condemned anti-Semitism, she is somehow guilty of stoking Islamophobia?  This is the insane world of the radical progressive left.

It was sad to watch Chelsea Clinton cower in the face of this verbal assault.  I would like to think that Bill and Hillary would forcefully defend their daughter from the absurd accusation of being an accomplice to mass murder.  Donald Trump, Jr. did

But I suspect they will remain silent.  The left has its talking points and marching orders.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) picked up this theme and ran with it.  During a press conference Friday, Nihad Awad, CAIR's executive director, said that his group holds President Trump "responsible for this growing anti-Muslim sentiment in the country and in Europe."

Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Linda Sarsour are also blaming Islamophobia, and they are doing this with the intent of silencing any and all criticism of Islam.

When they promote anti-Semitic narratives, good people will and should call them out.  But the anti-Semites respond by yelling, "Islamophobia!" and "Racism!" as if anyone objecting to their anti-Semitism must be a bigot.  This diversion is only intended to camouflage their raw Jew-hatred and distract us from the greater danger.

It is imperative that we condemn any attack on a house of worship no matter who does it and no matter who is attacked.  The attacks on the New Zealand mosques were evil and should be condemned.

But it is also imperative that we refuse to be cowed by leftists and their Islamist allies who are attempting to silence us about the dangers of Islamic supremacism, growing anti-Semitism and the attack on free speech.

Radical Islam At War

What happened in New Zealand was an act of horrific evil.  I condemned it immediately, as did President Trump and all decent people.  But this mad rush to shut down speech and any criticism of Islam is insane.  Radical Islam is at war with the West.

Attack after attack have been carried out by Islamists in the name of Allah and encouraged by imams all over the world.  It is necessary that the West remain strong in the face of this onslaught.

While condemning the senseless violence in New Zealand, we must push back against the Islamic supremacists who have caused more violence and death in recent years than any other political or social movement.

  • In October 2002, 202 people were killed, including 88 Australians and 28 Britons, when Islamists bombed a tourist resort in Bali, Indonesia, that was known for catering to Westerners.
  • In March 2004, 193 people were killed and 2,000 were injured when Al Qaeda bombed commuter trains in Madrid, Spain.
  • In July 2005, 52 people were killed and 784 injured when Islamists bombed the London subway.
  • In November 2015, 130 people were killed and 413 injured when Islamists attacked a concert and bombed a soccer stadium in Paris, France.
  • In March 2016, 32 people were killed and 340 injured when Islamists attacked the Brussels airport and subway stations.
  • In July 2016, 86 people were killed and 458 injured when an Islamist drove a semi through a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in Nice, France.
  • In May 2017, 22 people were killed and 512 injured when an Islamist bombed an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England.
  • Today authorities in the Netherlands are looking for a 37 year-old Turkish man who gunned down three people and wounded nine more.

We have faced similar atrocities here in the United States.

  • September 11, 2001.  Nearly 3,000 Americans were killed and 6,000 injured after Islamists crashed hijacked airliners into the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon and a field in Shanksville, PA.
  • November 5, 2009.  Major Nidal Hasan killed 14 people and wounded 29 during a rampage at Fort Hood, Texas.
  • April 15, 2013.  Five people were killed and 180 injured during the Boston Marathon bombings.
  • July 16, 2015.  Five people were killed after an Islamist opened fire on two military installations in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
  • December 2, 2015.  Fourteen people were killed and 22 wounded after two Islamists attacked a Christmas party in San Bernardino.
  • June 12, 2016.  Forty-nine people were killed and 53 injured after an Islamist opened fire at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando.
  • October 31, 2017.  Eight people were killed and 11 injured after an Islamist drove a rental truck down lower Manhattan targeting cyclists and pedestrians.

Will we ever know the true number of Christians and Yazidis slaughtered during the ISIS genocide in Iraq and Syria?

More than 100 Christians have been killed by radical Islamists in Nigeria in the past month.  How many churches have been burned, how many Christians have been murdered there over the past decade?

Meanwhile, the list of terrorist attacks in Israel would be too long to include here as the Jewish state suffers near daily attacks by Islamists.  Synagogues have been attacked.  Buses have been bombed.  Israeli Jews are routinely stabbed in the streets of Jerusalem or in their homes.

These attacks are so frequent they barely make the news anymore.  An Israeli soldier and a rabbi were shot and killed yesterday by a Palestinian Islamist.

And the Islamic Republic of Iran regularly promises a second Holocaust by vowing to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.  Perhaps I missed it, but I don't recall hearing Tlaib, Omar, Sarsour or CAIR condemning the Iranian regime for its incitement against Israel.
