She's Back!

Hillary Clinton is back in the headlines as excerpts of her new book are being leaked in advance of its release next month. A lot of liberals in Washington just shake their heads and wish she would go away. Hillary is not the future of their movement.

I understand how they feel, but who is the future of the left? Is it 75 year-old Vermont socialist Bernie Sanders? Is it 74 year-old Joe Biden? Is it Black Lives Matter? Antifa?

And what exactly is the left's agenda?

Single-payer socialized healthcare? It's rapidly becoming a litmus test issue for progressives. But it failed in Vermont. It was rejected in Colorado. And even the progressive crazies in California are unwilling to go there. And it's that kind of policy that has prevented most European nations from being able to provide a serious national defense.

What about free college? Sounds great. Oregon tried it and is now dramatically scaling back its program.

What about open borders? Only the far-left fringe thinks that's a good idea. A January survey by the Pew Research Center, not exactly a right-wing think tank, found that:

  • 77% of Americans want stricter policies to prevent visa overstays.
  • 73% want to prevent illegal immigrants from receiving public benefits.
  • And 58% want to increase deportations of illegal immigrants.

But back to Hillary's book. A vignette from her new memoir made a lot of news yesterday. She wrote that during one of the presidential debates, Donald Trump invaded her personal space on the stage. Here's what she wrote:

"It was incredibly uncomfortable. . . Do you stay calm, keep smiling and carry on as if he weren't repeatedly invading your space? Or do you turn, look him in the eye and say loudly and clearly, 'Back up, you creep, get away from me.'"

When I read that quote, it sounded familiar. Then I remembered where we heard it before: Several women said the same thing to Bill Clinton!

    NFL Protest

Protestors gathered outside of the NFL's headquarters yesterday for a pro-Colin Kaepernick rally sponsored by the NAACP. Politicians and celebrities are jumping on the bandwagon. Susan Sarandon tweeted, "I stand with Colin." (Shouldn't she be kneeling with Colin?)

One of Kaepernick's cheerleaders at yesterday's protest was Linda Sarsour -- a perfect example of the modern left. Sarsour is an Israel-hating anti-Semite who urges Muslims not to assimilate to American culture. She is a "feminist" who has threatened violence against a female Muslim reformer.

So it's not terribly surprising that she runs to make common cause with Kaepernick, who in the middle of a failing football season thought it would be appropriate to take a knee every time the national anthem was played.

This is the new left. What is so sad is seeing an old left group like the NAACP making this its cause celebre.

Black children are dying every weekend in the streets of Chicago at the hands of black gang members. Minority children in virtually every big city are trapped in substandard schools. Historically high percentages of these children are growing up in homes without fathers.

And the NAACP is devoting resources to defending a millionaire malcontent who disdains the country that has given him more money than most families could ever dream of.

Sarsour and Sarandon may stand with Kaepernick. But I will stand with George Foreman, who said:

"I love the United States. They [Kevin Durant and Colin Kaepernick] haven't been brought up with people who were patriotic. A lot of people died so that they can have that privilege. . . The greatest day of my life was when I put on the colors, representing the United States."

    Another One

Here we go again. A disturbing phenomenon is emerging from mosques in California. We recently told you about imams in Davis and Riverside who prayed that Allah would destroy Israel and the Jews.

Yet another California imam, this one in Costa Mesa, is making news for his radical beliefs. He says "the Jews" are responsible for ISIS -- Israeli intelligence to be exact.

These kinds of conspiracy theories are widespread in the Middle East. Here's an imam in Turkey blaming ISIS on America. Here's an imam in Jordan saying that the Barcelona attack was faked by the West, just like 9/11.

And while politically correct Western elites tie themselves into pretzels trying to explain that radical Islamic terrorism has nothing to do with Islam and that the Islamic State really is not Islamic at all, the grand mufti of Egypt refuses to declare ISIS followers to be "unbelievers."

I trust the grand mufti knows more about Islam than our clueless elites.

But what is being done about these radical mosques right here in America? Where are these imams coming from? Are Governor Jerry Brown or House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi even remotely interested in asking any questions?

Thankfully, our friends at the Middle East Media Research Institute are doing an excellent job of exposing this extremism. But I would like to know if local law enforcement or the FBI or the Department of Homeland Security got any calls on the day these sermons in Costa Mesa, Davis and Riverside took place.
